Local access

Dear Mori no longer asks for an age group during onboarding. New installations open the standard profile, where connected account and purchase features are available. Local-only profiles created by earlier age selections remain available with their existing journals and restrictions.

For young readers

Your journal is a place for your own words. In the local profile, the words you write stay on this device. We cannot look up those words for you. Ask a trusted adult for help with questions about your privacy.

You can use Mori, small activities and earned Petals without buying Petals or connecting a Google account. Purchases, cloud purchase recovery, usage/crash reports, journal import/export and image sharing are unavailable in this profile. Local reminders, widgets and wallpaper remain optional.

Mori are symbols. They cannot promise luck or make a wish come true. You can stop an activity whenever you want. If something worries you, talk with a trusted adult.

For parents and guardians

Age bands saved by earlier versions remain in local secure storage, separately from the journal. The app does not send this setting to Firebase, Google Sign-In, the commerce backend or diagnostics. New installations do not collect or save an age choice. Existing under-18, unspecified-age and unrecognized stored values continue to receive local-only access. The app does not verify identity, age or parental consent.

For existing local-only profiles, Dear Mori does not start Firebase, Google Sign-In, Play Billing or diagnostics services. It does not restore historical diagnostics consent or purchased-wallet recovery. These profiles retain their separate local database; existing standard journal and paid-cache databases are preserved and not exposed in the local profile.

An agreement checkbox does not verify a parent, establish a child’s age or authorize processing that requires verified parental consent. Dear Mori does not implement parental verification. Child-local access does not require the adult account/arbitration assent. A Google Play purchase approval is not treated as a parental privacy-consent system.

The app provides no control to upgrade a saved local age profile to adult access. It disables external links, journal import/export and image save/share in that profile. Local deletion does not reset the age setting. Device owners can still uninstall the app or clear operating-system app storage; this design is not a device-level parental-control system or independent age assurance.

Parents and children may read the bundled support and privacy documents offline. A trusted adult can contact the support address using their own email application.

Questions and requests

Contact support@ohmymori.com if you believe information about a child has reached our services or to ask about the local profile and privacy controls. Provide only information needed to locate the issue; do not send the child’s journal or a password. We will verify parental authority proportionately where required.

We cannot retrieve journal text that never reached our services. Parental authorization for connected processing must not automatically grant access to a child’s private journal. Local deletion and exported copies must be handled on the relevant device or storage destination.
